October #PRStudChat: The Educator Panel
October 13th is our next #PRStudChat session and we all realize the importance of social media in the classroom. And, because school is in session, we want to focus (and celebrate) the many educators who doing great work with their students in this area. We’d like to put together a panel of educators and we’re hoping that you will help us. If you have a favorite educator, you can nominate that professor to participate on our panel. To nominate a professor, simply forward his/her Twitter handle to @PRStudChat for consideration.
Of course, only a handful of professors can be selected for a panel session on the 13th to discuss:
- Best PR and social media practices
- The use of social media in the classroom
- Great examples of colleges and universities using social media to build stronger student and faculty communities
- The integration of social media into college/university programs
- Favorite social media assignments
On the 13th, we will also be launching our October #PRstudchat challenge. We’re asking our student community to do a little homework before the chat by coming prepared with a link to share a favorite social media classroom project. For example, it could be a class blog or wiki that you feel really helped the learning process. Toward the end of the session, we’ll ask you to tweet out your link along with your professor’s name/Twitter handle. After the session, we’ll select the five most interesting projects and then ask the #PRStudChat community to vote on the one project that they like the most. Both the class and the professor will be awarded with a special gift.
We hope that you will join us for this special #PRStudChat session and challenge that highlights the efforts of the educator and sheds light on the many different ways for students to learn collaboratively in the classroom.
