#PRStudChat March 3/17 Discussion

It’s that time again…#PRStudChat is almost here. Our next discussion is 3/17 (on Happy St. Patty’s Day) and we have a great session planned. Our #PRStudChat special guest is Beth Harte (@bethharte). Beth, formerly the community manager at MarketingProfs, just took a new role at Sergenti Communications. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, she will answer questions based on the various PR positions she’s held over the years. Our session is focused on our PR students, who are graduating in May, and what they should expect when they enter the real world of business, from the roles and responsibilities to how to reach new influencers on behalf of their brands. Our PR pros and educators will also be on hand to guide the discussion from their particular areas of expertise.

#PRStudChat in 2010: A Year of PR 2.0 and Continuous Change

It’s time to gear up for an amazing #PRStudChat year! We’re convinced that our community will continue to see growth and provide a tremendous amount of information and insight on the changing PR landscape, PR 2.0 strategy, new tools and best practice techniques, social media measurement and emerging technology, to name a few interesting topics, for PR students, educators and pros.

#PRStudChat New Year Celebration: Give the Gift of Learning

Valerie Simon (@valeriesimon) and I just recently announced that Wednesday, December 16, 2009 is the next #PRStudChat. We’re always excited for our Twitter chat, but this particular session carries special meaning and value. It’s the last #PRStudChat session in 2009. In honor of the tremendous amount of learning we’ve experienced, since the inception of our community, we’ve decided that the December session will be called #PRStudChat New Year Celebration: Give the Gift of Learning.

PR 2.0 Don’t Forget LinkedIn

feel very connected to my social networking sites. First, there’s Twitter. I check Twitter in the early morning, I’m tweeting most of the day (unless I’m in meetings or it’s the weekend with family) and then I’m logged back in at night to tweet with friends. My second favorite social networking site is Facebook. There’s so much to do and many interesting ways to engage in conversation. And, even though I liked the old Facebook better, I’m still a big fan. I also enjoy sharing photos on Flickr and I’m finding more people to connect with on FriendFeed and Plaxo. But, there’s one social networking site that deserves recognition. What about LinkedIn? Well that’s a very good question.
