There are a lot of great technology partners. You need to roll up your sleeves and test several of these platforms to see which one meets the needs of your programs or the needs of different clients. It’s no secret that I’m a fan of PitchEngine, a “new kind of social PR platform.” I’ve used it to share my customized stories and to be found. Because PitchEngine has launched its new platform with enhanced SEO capabilities, I thought it would be a good time to update you on the progress. Jason Kintzler, [...] It feels like yesterday when Angela Hernandez (@angelahernandez) asked me to contribute to her blog interview series, “Is PR Right for Me.” What blossomed out of a blog post is our dynamic PR community, #PRStudChat. The last time I wrote about Marketwire, I was praising the company for their progressive technology and social media 2.0 service. I had also just worked with them jointly on a book signing in their exhibit booth at the PRSA International Conference in Detroit back in 2009. I’ve been watching Marketwire ever since, and thought it was time to write about them again. I read so many great articles when I was on vacation last week. The article, “Drupal vs. Joomla” I thought was especially helpful. It appeared in the June issue of Entrepreneur Magazine. Now you’re probably wondering why I would be so enthusiastic about an article (really it was a chart) on content management systems. I just finished the book, Twittfaced, by Jacob Morgan and Josh Peters. I think it’s a good social media 101 handbook that provides you with a breakdown of social media tools, platforms and opportunities that are not overwhelming to the reader, but organized so that the information is straightforward and easy to read. I had the pleasure of interviewing co-author, Jacob Morgan. Jacob is a social media consultant and the Principle of Chess Media Group, a social business consultancy, focused on strategy, creativity, and results. I can’t remember a time in my PR career when a brand (B2B or B2C) wasn’t in some kind of trouble. From product recalls and e coli poisoning to airline flights cancellations and accounting scandals. Enron, WorldCom and Arthur Anderson resulted in Sarbanes Oxley and more financial transparency and stricter reporting procedures. I’m not sure if social media would have helped those companies. But, today is different. On any given day, a brand that is on top of the world (i.e., athletes and MLB) can fall from grace. Did anyone say Alex Rodriguez? There is a way to restore the trust. There are so many new, great PR 2.0 tools and resources that deserve recognition. Today’s blog post focuses on MyPRgenie (www.myprgenie.com), which touts itself as a public relations delivery platform for the 21st century. Whenever I come across a service that I find interesting for PR professionals, I always ask my PR team to evaluate the offering. Here are a couple of uncensored reviews of the MyPRgenie delivery platform: |
