For me numbers are important, but what matters most to me is the connection I feel with that person. Do I respect what they do and have to say? Can I learn from them? Do I walk away after reading something or chatting with them feeling like I took something away?

I love learning from people and no matter how many followers they may have, I need to feel like I learned something from that person, no matter how large or small it may be.

interesting take on this deirdre. out of curiosity – have you read about the brand archtypes ? you seem to resonate their positioning while creating some new sub-classes as well. definitely food for thought. thank you

Hi Stephen! That’s really interesting and no I don’t think I’ve read anything on the brand archtypes (at least not recently). Thanks for sharing your insight. I think it’s such a fascinating topic and there are so many different points of view. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi Megan….I feel the same way. I pay attention to the numbers but I still rely on that personal connection and also the respect for the person and the point of view. I’m finding that there are some very smart bloggers who only blog once a few times a month. They don’t have tens of thousands of followers but their insight is amazing and I learn from them every time I read their posts. Thanks for sharing!
