I first launched this PR 2.0 strategy portal in 2008 as I was researching my 3rd book, PR 2.0: New Media New Tools & New Audiences. I continued to use my blog to share ideas and theories for a collaboration with Brian Solis, which turned into my 4th title, “Putting the Public Back into Public Relations” published by Pearson Education in 2009.  PR 2.0 is still a fascinating subject today. I’ve spoken with so many professionals regarding how brands are learning to change their communications approach by using social media to engage directly with the public whether it’s their customers and/or other company stakeholders.  Topics frequently

 

discussed on this site include relationship building, measurement, content planning, social networking, blogging, microblogging, podcasting, streaming video, and how technology and communication are changing the way that businesses need to think in order to fully take advantage of community collaboration and 21st Century brand building.  I’m thankful for all of the experts who have shared their opinions in my books and on this website; not only their personal use of social media strategies and tools in their careers but also how they are helping their brands to embrace PR 2.0 collaboration.  We are all learning and together, as professionals we are reinventing the PR industry, breathing life into our profession through the use of socialized media.  We are truly “Putting the Public Back in Public Relations.”

As I continue the efforts with upcoming books, I hope that many more communications professionals will speak with me and discuss their best social media stories.
