You say it so well, Deirdre! I plan to share this with my PR classes…professional advice always sounds better coming from someone other then “the teacher”!!

Thank you, Kirk! I’m really happy that you’re going to share this with your classes. I know what you mean about the professional advice vs. the teacher. Reminds me of the friend vs. the parent insights scenario, where the former is usually taken to heart and the latter, not so much 🙂

    Hi Professor!
Let me tell you that I am enjoying so much my first semester in PR! What I love the most about PR is building relationships, but I am going to be honest, building relationships with media scares me a little. I know, I am a beginner and it´s normal! Little by little I am starting to understand, and these tips that you shared are keepers. Thank you so much!

Hi Adriana, thanks for visiting my blog 🙂 You are not alone with respect to how you feel, especially when it comes to building relationships with the media. However, just like any relationship, when you invest time and effort it gets stronger. We have many tools and information at our fingertips so that we can learn more about our media contacts and be able to offer valuable information. I know you will do really well building great relationships with your media contacts!
