Starting the Year in an Age of Context: A Book Review
First and foremost …. Happy holidays to my friends and colleagues.
I selected the Age of Context by Robert Scoble and Shel Israel as the book I would read and review to close out the year. The perfect selection, as the information presented is a great way to begin the New Year with new ideas and a fresh perspective on life changing technology . The authors neatly package the chapters in the book to present the future of mobile, social media, data, sensors, and location, which are five driving forces. Scoble and Israel share their thoughts and experiences with game changing examples of these technologies, each one more powerful than the next. The Age of Context takes you to a realm of incredible possibilities, with technology that connects us and ultimately to serve us better. Balancing out their tech enthusiasm with reality, the authors offer the benefits of innovation, as well as the inevitable privacy issues. If you’re interested in technology and communication, how information will be shared in the future to create more meaningful, beneficial and relevant experiences, and the privacy issues that stem from these new technologies, then the Age of Context is a must read book for you.
I want to wish everyone a very happy New Year. All the best to you in 2014!
