The power of social media: What if this was your friend?
If you’ve been reading my blog for the past few years you would know that I am a huge advocate of using social media for awareness, to ignite passion and to create strong bonds between people. Let’s see if social media can really live up to the praise and recognition its been given by so many professionals.
Today’s post is a little different. Although it’s about relationships; it’s not the kind that started on Twitter or Facebook. It’s about two friends who met in college years ago, and now one of them is very sick with cancer. You can read the blog post by Valerie Simon about her friend and very first roommate, Megan. Valerie is reaching out, using the power of social media to create awareness, and to ask people to help her friend.
I hope you will read the post and share this with your friends and family. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about social connections, together we can do so much more. Please consider being a part of #TeamMeg and visit Meg’s CaringBridge site. I know everyone has a good cause, but what if this was your friend?
One last thing … no matter how busy you are, always take the time to reach out, embrace and hold close every friend that you have.
